A Three Day Tour of the Somme

The Somme battlefield tour focuses mainly on the events of 1st July 1916, though you will see a wide area of the Somme which witnessed scenes of fighting. En route, we also take an opportunity to visit other sites of interest from the Western Front.

The name of the Somme will forever be associated with Britain and The First World War. The battle was the first experience of action for the vast majority of Britain’s new volunteer army and 57,000 casualties were suffered on the first day alone, July 1st 1916. After four months of fighting, both sides had suffered approximately one million casualties.

For the Somme tour we stay in the centre of the historic town of Arras with its extensive selection of restaurants and bars.
